Wanda Mae Jackson 78, of Ames, passed away May 5, at the Story County Care Facility in Nevada. Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday May 9, at the Ames Municipal Cemetery. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday May 9, at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Ames.

 

Wanda was born October 14, 1933 in Sidney, IA. She grew up in Story City; and was confirmed at Emanuel Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir. Wanda graduated from Story City High School in 1952.

 

After moving to Ames, Wanda joined St. Andrews Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir, attended prayer groups and helped with senior meals. She loved animals, enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening and Notre Dame Football.

 

Wanda is survived by her son Stewart of Ames.

 

She was preceded in death by her; parents and two brothers, George and Don Wiggin.'
