Girl Scouts celebrate 100 years

(March 9, 2012) Girl Scouts is gearing up to kick off the biggest birthday bash of the millennium. The organization will be celebrating its official 100th anniversary on March 12th and has a number of celebratory events planned throughout March and April.

(Feb. 3, 2012) Story Theater Company is pleased to present its winter children’s theater performance of The Jungle Book.  This performance is written by Joseph Robinette and is based on the Mowgli Stories by Rudyard Kipling.  Performances will be held February 10-19, 2012.

Cast members will be selling tickets at Ames area Fareway grocery stores on Saturday, February 4, from 9 am to 2 pm. 

Free parenting class available

Registration is under way for Positive Solutions for Families, a free parenting class.  The first class will start on January 10th and another will start January 12th. The class is based on Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). A number of schools and childcare agencies have taken this training and are currently using PBIS.
