(March 29, 2012) ACTORS (Ames Community Theater) opens “Death Takes a Holiday” at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 30.

 

This striking drama has established itself among the important plays of our time.  Weary of "always being misunderstood,"  Death suspends his activities and takes on a human form.  He passes himself off as a visiting prince and falls in love with a beautiful girl.  Through her, he realizes why mortals fear him.

Stephens fundraising campaign sees record number of donors

(March 21, 2012) The arts at Stephens Auditorium have inspired a record number of donors this year. With the final tally of the 2011-2012 Performing Arts Fund Campaign complete, the fund has reached a new benchmark. This support from the community shows they strongly endorse the program and that they want to keep the arts vital for ISU, Ames and central Iowa.

 

Over $138,836 was donated to the Performing Arts Series this year. Stephens Auditorium attracted 81 new donors out of the 565 total individuals, families, businesses and foundations who support the Performing Arts Series. Over 81% of donors who gave previously chose to renew their gifts to the arts.
