(Feb. 27, 2012) Story County Medical Center was honored to receive a first place ADDY® Award at the 2012 American Advertising Federation Cedar Valley Chapter awards ceremony on February 23, 2012. The ADDY® Awards are the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition, attracting over 50,000 entries every year in local ADDY® competitions.
Story County Medical Center won a Gold ADDY® in the newspaper campaign category for its Change Your Story nursery rhyme advertising campaign. The award was won in conjunction with Story Medical’s marketing agency, Hellman Associates, which is based in Waterloo, Iowa.
“It is a huge honor for Story Medical to win an ADDY®,” said Samantha Boyd, Story County Medical Center Communications Director. “I couldn’t be more proud of my team, both at Story Medical and at Hellman.”
The set of 12 print advertisements have run in Story and Marshall County newspapers since March of 2011 and will continue through June 2012. The complete series, to date, can be viewed through Story Medical’s online storybook, www.changeyourstory.org.
The mission of the ADDY® competition is to recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising. Conducted annually, the local ADDY® Awards is the first of a three-tiered, national competition. At the second tier, local winners compete against other winners in one of 14 District competitions. Story County Medical Center’s campaign will complete in the District 9 competition, which is comprised of top finishers in Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri.
“Competing at the district level is very exciting,” said Boyd. “Not only does the campaign represent Story Medical, but it also exemplifies the creative ideas that come from professionals right here in Iowa.”
Should the campaign win a district level ADDY®, it would then be forwarded to the third tier, the National ADDY® Awards competition. More information about the ADDY® Awards can be found at www.aaf.org.
