(March 22, 2011) Global Gala, one of ISU’s largest annual celebrations of cultural diversity, is ready to take flight Friday, March 25, 2011 at 9p.m. in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union.  Student Union Board (SUB) invites guests to immerse themselves in the rich and varied diversities at ISU by traveling around the globe exploring the sights, sounds, and tastes of many different countries.

This year’s theme is “From Ames to… EVERYWHERE!”  A social hour will begin at 8 p.m. and guests can sample food and drinks of different countries.  A fun filled evening of entertainment begins at 9 p.m. and includes performers from ISU groups such as the Puerto Rican Student Association, TapISU,  ChakRAAS:ISU Raas, Guang Hwa Lion Dance Troupe, Celtic Dance Society, a preview of the ISU Fashion Show, and many more.  Cultural artifacts will be displayed throughout the room to add to the festive atmosphere.

Global Gala is a FREE event and open to the public.  Traditional or semi- formal attire is highly appreciated. The Memorial Union is located at 2229 Lincoln Way on the ISU campus in Ames.
