Gilbert fundraiser is 'Lassoin a Legacy'

(March 22, 2011) Saddle up and mosey on over for a hoedown, grub and fundraising to benefit students at the 2011 Gilbert Education Foundation Rock Hop Rodeo, Lassoin’ a Legacy.  This event will be held at the Gateway Hotel & Conference Center Saturday, April 2.

Join in for a fun evening of socializing, dining and fundraising to benefit students in the Gilbert Community School District. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m.  Social time will run from 5:30-7 p.m., silent auction from 5:30-7:30 p.m., dinner and raffle drawing 7 to 8 p.m. and live auction will start at 8 p.m.

Some of the highlights from this year’s live auction include a Disco Party featuring Christy Love and the You Know Who Band, Hoiberg Hoops, Ride with the Rubber Knife Gang, Wild West Adventure, sideline tickets to an ISU game and dinner with the coaches and team, and too many more to mention!  There will also be over 40 super silent and 112 silent auction items to bid on!   Visit our website at www.gilbert.k12.ia.us  and click on Rock Hop to view the list of “Sneak Peeks”.

Another big highlight of the night is the opportunity to win cash!  You can purchase raffle tickets now (need not be present to win) and have a chance to win the $5,000 grand prize, $1,500 second, or $1,000 third prize.  Raffle tickets are $20 and can be purchased at any of the Gilbert Schools.

The Gilbert Education Foundation’s mission is the make an impact on as many students as possible by providing funds for the purchase of materials and equipment that foster learning and enable students to reach their educational potential. 

The Rock Hop is the Gilbert Education Foundation’s main fundraiser with 100% of the proceeds going directly into the Gilbert Schools.  Specifically, this year’s proceeds will be used to increase student access to interactive technology, i-pads, laptops, i-pods, etc.  In addition, some of the funds will be allocated to support teacher mini-grams that reward innovative classroom practices.
