Campustown bars agree to one-week suspension of liquor licenses

 (Feb. 24, 2012 – 9 a.m.) Two Campustown bars won’t be serving any alcohol for a week in March.

 The administrator of the Iowa Alcohol Beverages Division has ordered Club Element and Chasers, both bars at 2402 Chamberlain Ave., not to sell, serve, or give away alcohol from 6 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, to 6 a.m., Tuesday, March 13. The order also prevents consumption of alcoholic beverages on the properties during that period.

(Dec. 15, 2011) Mid-Iowa Community Action, Inc. (MICA) operates the Story County Emergency Food Pantry in Ames, which provides food staples, hygiene products, and other essentials to hundreds of people in the local community.

The food pantry is supported by community donations, so this work would not be possible without the generous support of community members, businesses, churches, civic groups, and other organizations that contribute to the pantry.
